T.O. in Chicago? Hopefully a no-go

On today’s episode of ESPN’s 1st and 10, the possibility of the Chicago Bears obtaining WR Terrell Owens was discussed.

Now with the Bears’ WR situation, you have tons of potential with rookie Johnny Knox and Devin Hester(both are young and ridiculously fast on the outside) and there’s great chemistry going with Earl Bennett, Jay Cutler, Greg Olson..you bring Owens into that mix and it’d be oil and water.

While Owens hasn’t been posting those Cowboys numbers since joining the Bills, I don’t doubt that if provoked he could more than obliterate his dismal performance the past 5 weeks if he comes to the Bears program. It’s just a matter of what Chicago is willing to give up for 36 year-old Owens when they have some younger, and much hungrier, positioned players.

It’s reported that the Bears are not showing much interest in a trade for Owens, it would hurt them way more than it would ever help them. Last week, Johnny Knox posted 1 TD and 2 more receptions than Owens while Earl Bennett had almost equal yardage with 3 more receptions than Owens.

It’s like my mom always says: Never bite your nose off to spite your face.

And no..that wasn’t a Waterboy-ism.

Last night the Bulls managed to fight for a last-minute, free throw-deciding 87-86 win against the Milwaukee Bucks, while a still injured Derrick Rose sat out. Joakim Noah scored 20pts and 16 rebounds.

Tonight it’s the Boise State Broncos against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes for the Wednesday NCAA matchup, and with Tulsa being the underdog in this BCS berth-clinching journey based on past performance Boise St. has to really tighten its grip on offense.
